1. ABSTRAK

Because the house is the most asset, home security is very important. A house must provide a sense of security to the owner, especially from the level of security that must meet home security standards. Many people carry out surveillance to overcome the condition of the house when it is empty but do not inform directly about the information captured by surveillance cameras about the condition of the homeowners. Theft of homeownership and House fires usually occur when the house is empty, and the homeowner must leave the house for daily activities. In a situation like this, a good security system is needed in a house that has no occupants. The development of the times has also increased the technology of security systems in a house. One of them is the application of an Internet of Things-based home security system where we can access and get reports on the condition of the house in real-time, whenever and wherever. Therefore, a home security system was created that combines a microcontroller with an Android smartphone application. The microcontroller used is a Raspberry Pi which is equipped with a camera as a home security monitoring system and sensors for detection such as magnets, PIRs, and solenoids as automatic passwords. So that when the sensor detects something in the house, the homeowner will immediately receive a notification sent from the database into the smartphone application, so that the homeowner can unify the current status of the house through photos and videos recorded by the camera installed in the house. 1. INTRODUCTION

Science and technology have progressed significantly. With the growth of science and technology, new issues emerge, one of which is home security. The issue originates from the house's lack of security, which does not exceed safety regulations. In Indonesia, the majority of security systems still do not use a standard home security system. Because of the increasing crime rate, several types and models of security gadgets are quickly becoming popular. The regular occurrence of criminal activities performed by thieves who target people's homes, whether abandoned or not, makes people nervous about leaving their unoccupied homes. Houses, buildings, and other structures are all protected. To prevent the occurrence of criminal acts of theft or other criminal acts, a security system is required. This is done to reduce the theft crime rate, which is increasing year after year. The domestic security system was used in this investigation. We all believe that storing assets at home is the safest and most comfortable option. A security system that is designed to supervise someone in monitoring the movement of people who enter the property in front of something that the homeowner does not want to happen. As a result, a home security system based on the internet of things has been developed by several scientists. (Sungkar, 2020) The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept aimed at extending the benefits of always-on internet connectivity. In-office buildings and houses, the Internet of Things (IoT) can be used to operate electrical equipment and as a security system that can be managed remotely over a computer network. As a result, it is unavoidable that this technology is used in everyday life. Various previous studies have created various Internet of Things (IoT)-based home security systems, including Home Security Using Arduino-Based Internet of Things, whose research focuses on a home security system that combines a microcontroller with an android smartphone and a switch sensor, and Home Security Using Arduino-Based Internet of Things, whose research focuses on a home security system that combines a microcontroller with an android smartphone and a switch sensor, An Arduino Uno with SIM808 is used as the microcontroller. Sim808 will send data to the database server and generate notifications in the form of sound and SMS. The results provided to the database may be seen using an application that appears when the port is opened. When the PIR sensor detects human activity, the Raspberry Pi camera takes photos and sends the results to users via Smart home.

  1. BACKGROUND

Internet of Things or also known by the abbreviation IoT is a concept which aims to benefit from continuously connected internet connectivity that allows us to connect machines, equipment, and physical objects others with network sensors and actuators forth quire data and manage its performance, thus supporting machines to collaborate and even based on new information actions obtained independently. Internet of Things or often called IoT ianan an idea where everything in the real world can communicate with each other as part of one unified system using the internet network as a liaison. for example C, CTV installed along the road together with an internet connection and put together in the control rung which may be tens of kilometers. or a smart home that can be managed via smartphone with the help of a connection Internally IoT devices consist of sensors as data collection media, connection the internet as a communication medium, and server as a collector of information received by sensors and for Analysis. The first Internet of Things idea was were created by Kevin Ashton in 1999 in one of the presentations. Now many companies big start to explore the Internet of Things you name it Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, and many others. Many predict that the influence of The Internet of Things is the “next big thing” in the world of information technology, This is because IT offers a lot of potentials that can be explored. Example simple benefits and implementation of the Internet of Things, for example, are refrigerators that can be guaranteed to the owner via SMS or email e-mail about any food and drink (Efendi, 2018) It's out of stock and needs to be stocked again. Ho me security is a mandatory requirement for every homeowner who wants a good level of security. Home security systems that are still widely applied to homes are alarms. With the development of today's technology, the home security system is growing. A home security system has become one of the features that every homeowner who wants to have a home safe from theft should have. The alarm system is still applied to detect thieves. The alarm system has shortcomings to detect between the owner and the thief, so the security level is very low. The use of facial recognition is to recognize the homeowner's face and distinguish it from the thief's face. Technology makes everything we do simple. Many scientists try to create something that can facilitate their activities, this is what encourages the development of technology to create innovative tools to facilitate human activities. With the rapid development of technology, especially in the field of informatics, home security can also be monitored anytime, anywhere using internet services and can be monitored through cameras that can be accessed via smartphones. In addition, smartphones equipped with Android OS can be used to unify the home security system and detect the presence of a person using motion sensors such as PIR sensors which will detect the wavelength of passive infrared rays generated by the human body and will then provide notifications through the Smart Home security application. Therefore, the author has an idea to create a project entitled "IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTERNET OF THINGS IN A SMART HOME SECURITY SYSTEM"
